I promise I won't comment on current situation of British economy. There are enough specialists in this country. Anyway, it seems to me that going through British crisis is much more tolerable, than prosperity in some other places, even in Europe.

I met my Russian friend in a park couple days ago. Of course we boasted about our children's achievements. Every mother had at least 5 minutes monologue on her child's cleverness and beauty. As all mothers-emigrants, we complained for lack of grandma's help.

Be honest – when thinking about England, most peple think of its capital. Almost everybody who has been to the UK paid London a visit. That´s great, the city has undenyably a lot to give (and to take – especially one´s money). But what other places has the island to offer? Oxford, Cambridge with its marvelous colleges and its university tradion, alright, fair enough, beautiful cities but hardly insider tips ... I am speaking about places, travel guides are not dedicating half of their entries to.
